Grantees

Hypertherm’s philanthropic mission is enriching our Associate-owner communities as a catalyst for collaboration and compassion, inspiring solutions for sustainable positive change.

HOPE Foundation grant decisions are made by the HOPE teams, which are comprised of Hypertherm Associates from all areas of the company. We have teams based in the United States in the Upper Valley of NH/VT, Lockport, NY, New Brighton, MN, and Kent, WA. Additionally, we have a North American Team comprised of remote Associates in the US and Canada.

Hypertherm Associates is a global company. Therefore, the HOPE Foundation has a Global Giving program.  In this aspect of our philanthropy, we follow the same model where Associates living and working in a region make the funding decisions. We have small teams in our global offices in Asia, Brazil, Italy, and the Netherlands. If you are interested in learning more about our Global Giving program, please contact us at grants@Hypertherm.com

These teams meet quarterly to review and vote on grant requests. Funding decisions are communicated soon thereafter. You can expect to receive funds within two months of notification if approved. It is important to note that depending on when your application is submitted within our quarterly review cycle, it could take four months before funds are received by your organization. Please plan your request accordingly based on your needs and our review cycle.

Environmental sustainability and climate issues remain important to the HOPE Foundation. We continue to fund projects that address climate change through mitigation and adaptation under our Outdoors & Climate focus area.  We will consider projects that reduce the carbon emissions and waste environmental impacts of local non-profits.

Donation decisions are based on the following guidelines:

  • Organizations must have nonprofit tax-exempt status under IRS code 501(c)(3)
  • Grant requests should align with our philanthropic mission and core value of respect for all people
  • Hypertherm does not support donations to individuals nor does it support organizations with a direct political or religious focus
  • Grant seekers are expected to be inclusive and non-discriminatory in their practices, policies, and programs

Our funding is focused in the geographic areas of:

  • Upper Valley region of New Hampshire and Vermont
  • Lockport, New York
