(HANOVER, N.H.—July 31, 2024)  Hypertherm Associates, a U.S. based manufacturer of industrial cutting systems and software, announced the release of its 2023 Corporate Culture and Social Responsibility (CCSR) Report. The report highlights accomplishments and progress in the areas of community engagement, belonging, environmental sustainability, and the organization’s culture as a 100 percent Associate-owned company.

The 2023 Associate Engagement Survey showed that 89% of Associates agreed that the company is committed to environmental sustainability and supporting our communities and, most importantly, provides them with opportunities to contribute to these objectives. Therefore, the 2023 CCSR report focuses on statements from Associate owners sharing why they engage in community service, STEM education, inclusion, continuous improvement, and green initiatives.

2023 was again a record-breaking year with 33,940 volunteer hours served in the community and 585 Associates using 100% of their Community Service Time (CST). Volunteer hours were used for a wide variety of ad hoc community projects, ongoing community support tasks, and work connected to the HOPE (Hypertherm Owners’ Philanthropic Endeavors) Foundation’s key strategic pillars of STEM education, early childhood development, and substance use disorder prevention and recovery.

Hypertherm Associates furthered its commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) in 2023 with the creation of a new Inclusion & Director role. Ali Eko, a valued member of the HR team, is now partnering with cross-functional teams, Leaders, and Associate Resource Groups to improve and progress inclusive workplace practices so that all Associate have an equal opportunity to succeed and be their best and true selves.

Progress toward 2030 environmental sustainability goals continues with a 17% decrease in electricity use of Hypertherm Associates’ products since 2019 and a Circulytics score improvement from C to B- based on waste stream improvements, a product return program, and circularity training.

The 2023 CCSR report also demonstrates Associate owners’ meaningful contributions to continuous improvements in the business and a positive safety culture, including the renewal of two of the company’s five OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star Status US manufacturing locations.

“Our approach to sustainable corporate social responsibility has always been to empower Associates to develop solutions to the biggest problems and share what we’ve learned with other businesses to expand the collective impact,” said Jenny Levy, EVP of People, Community, and Environment and President, HOPE Foundation. “The 2023 CCSR report shows the impact behind the numbers, directly from the Associates improving our workplace, our communities, and our earth every day.”
